Did you know that... in the Middle Ages, Elbląg was known as a major trading city on the Baltic Sea? Unfortunately, due to the silting up of the sea passages on the Vistula Spit and the shifting of the main mouth of the Vistula, Gdańsk took over its role in maritime trade. Who knows, if it weren't for nature, we would today associate Elbląg with a panoWooden frames of shipyard cranes.
